Why are the margins and text size different on the back side when you duplex print on the L7590? The front prints perfectly but the back prints with a larger margin and reduced size text. Is there a driver I need to update? How can I resolve this issue?
Thanks

Have you tried using the Print Diagnostic tool? You can find it here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
This should check for any common problems with driver and settings. Please let me know if this solves your issue.

Thanks for the link to the print diagnostic tool; however, it does not address duplex printing issues. Any other suggestions.
Thanks.

Hi barbara7311,
there are two options (Preserve Layout under features tab and Minimize Margin under Advanced tab)in the print driver printing preference which you can configure to achieve your desired duplex printing margin,
1. right click on the printer icon in printer and faxes folder
2. click on the Officejet Pro L7590 printer icon then right and select printing preference
3a. under features tab you should see "Preserve layout" under Two-sided printing
3b. under advanced tab you should see "Minimize margins"
please try changing the this two setting to print out the same document again , i hope it helps
cheers....

This works great except for the top and bottom margins. The top margin is off by two or three lines and the bottom by one to two lines. Margins are set top and bottom at 1 inch. I presume the "minimize margins" should be checked as off. I am printing a Word document using the normal printing preferences. Scale to print and other such options are not chosen. What would you suggest be done to correct this?
Thanks.

hi babara7311,
I've tried created an 1 inch top/bottom margin documet and printed it out on my HP officejet Pro L7600 printer with Mimimize Margin = off,Preserve Layout = Off, Two Sided Printing = Automatic, i'm able to achieve 1 inch margin at top/bottom for page 1, 1 inch margin at bottom of page 2 and ~1.3 inch margin at the top of page two (the top margin for page 2 is abit off though by 1 line, but not as bad s two or three lines you mentioned).
is your MS Word document page setup paper size the same as the paper size you selected in HP Officejet Pro L7590 printing preference? may i know what operating system you using ?

I created the document in Word 2000 using Windows XP. On the L7590 the choice is either to check Preserve Layout or not; I checked Preserve Layout. Perhaps the L7600's driver is slightly different. I am used to extremely high end company printers that are networked to the whole office so I may be expecting something that is not possible in a smaller printer.
Thanks.
