Trying to figure this out as most instructions to do so are not working as described. L7680 comes on when plugged in and gets the C00E0001 error message of "Turn power of then on again". If I press the power button, it stays on and goes back as if restarting and gets the erro again. I can not turn it off without puling the plug. I have tried reset sequences of #3 and #6 with the same results per info from FixYa.com. HP support page about "Turn off then On" leads me to believe power adapter is bad, but I am getting close to 32VDC (31+ on my meter). New Power Adaptor is on the way. Just want to find out what the errors codes mean and that I haven't wasted money on a power adapter I may not need. And, anything I can do to get this thing printing again.

is your printer connected directly to wall socket? if not, I would suggest to connect it directly without surge protector.
but if you would ask me, I think its a printer firmware problem not really a power adapter. But I would appreciate if you update me once you get your adapter and the problem was fixed. Thanks!

Got the new power adapter. Problem not fixed. Was able to get into printer menu to point of it telling me both print heads have problems. Have also been able to reset NVRAM. Helps to get the printer on, but eventually gets the same errors. Ready to try new print heads, if that is the real problem. Don't want to drop cash into the wrong issue and endup paying enough for a new printer and still have to buy a new printer. Any reference to what the error codes C00E0001 and C00E0022 mean?

Well got hold of HP helpdesk and got around doing again what we've already done. Problem is in printer beyond diagnosis over phone or online. Upgrade to 8500N Premier for less than the price of a technicians working on it. Still don't know what C00E0001 and C00E0022 errors codes mean.
