HP 7510 printer works ok except sometimes when it goes to sleep it NEVER wakes up. Pressing the off switch does not work. The only way to get the printer working is to physically unplug the power and then reconnect power.

Hi,
There are a couple of utilities that HP created that might solve your problem. I would download them and run them to see if it helps.
See it one of these will help.

Tried both utilities but neither one was able to check my printer. The issue is that my HP 7510 printer wirelessly connected to network intermittantly totally freezes up after going to sleep. Unplugging/replugging power cord is only way to reboot the printer. I need a firmware fix for this issue.

Hi. My HP7510 printer won't start using the power on/off button unless I unplug it and leave it for a couple of minutes. What's the problem here? I updated all software and hardware utilities when I did manage to get it started. Problem seems to be getting worse. Any help?

This just started happening with my HP 7510. This was a replacement unit for a HP B210a which developed the same problem.
It was fine for several days and then went to sleep and won't wake or power off from the switch. The problem got progressively worse until HP relaced the unit.

My 7510 wouldn't wake up or shut off again this AM. It worked fine yesterday.

It seems that I am not the only one with this problem. Unplugging seems to be the only way to wake things up.

I too am experiencing the same issue. My printer goes away and won't wake up. Very Frustrating, especially as sometimes I am trying to print from another room.

Hi again,
Sorry for the delay in responding earlier, I haven't had time to get back until now. I found this document on the HP 7510 Product page. It contains options to check to see that you have the latest firmware, as well as, it contains information for a newer utility called HP Print and Scan doctor.
I know this document is around losing connection wirelessly, but it contains the help for firmware upgrade if there is any and the new utility.
I've experienced this with my c309a printer, and I, like many of you have my printer plugged into a "power strip" see if you still experience this with your printer plugged directly into the power plug on the wall.

I have the same problem with my 7510 printer. Once it goes to sleep only removing the power cord can restart this printer. It is non-responsive to the power button and I do have both blue and white lights on. I have tried to download new software but it says I have the latest software. I really hope HP is listening to all of these messages since this is very disappointing to the user community.
