Re: HP DesignJet 650C Plotter Parts and Service Manual

I think that HP, in their mind, still supports these old plotters with C7769-90066 which is a DVD with digital versions of their "support" documents.  Otherwise, they don't make nearly as much money supporting the "ancient" plotters when they could sell you a brand spanking shiny new plotter, for a big wad of dough, that has been "optimized" to use $200 consumables.  Win-win for HP.  Last I heard, some HP ink cartridges had built-in "expiration dates" that the printer would honor, refusing to print on a full cartridge until you had paid your fealty to HP.  They stopped being a tech company a while back, probably under that bean-counter Fiorina.  Gotta look out for shareholder value, dontcha know?

PS. Sorry about the "screen name" - from their clumsy web interface, I couldn't figure out why the registration process had an added step.  Now I know.

Re: HP DesignJet 650C Plotter Parts and Service Manual

The service manual for the Designjet 650c can be found with a Google search. The B version is mostly similar to the A version.  To be fair to HP consider that the Designjet 650c was released more than 17 years ago, mine has a datestamp of 1993.

BTW, this forum is focused on consumer level products.  For the Designjet you may have better results posting in the HP Enterprise Designjet forum here.

Re: HP DesignJet 650C Plotter Parts and Service Manual

We have the 650c Designjet.  The usersguide and maintenance manual that came with the plotter says it applies directly to the C2858A and C2859A but we it came with the C2859B. Trying to sell it as we just purchased a new HP.

Re: HP DesignJet 650C Plotter Parts and Service Manual

Hi Pete (and forum).

I have an HP 650C that I need to get rid of (collecting dust).  I have a full roll of paper and extra ink.  Will sell cheap or donate.

Hi mmorrissette

Where are you?  I may be interested in your 650C if you still have it?

Thanks
