I have an HP Designjet Z6100. Every time I print something, it leaves little ink trails. Like extra ink is dripping off. I have changed one of the print heads that seemed to be doing it and the first print after that was better, but still left an ink trail. The prints after that first one were almost as bad as before I changed the print head, so that did nothing. I have cleaned the printheads multiple times. I do not know how to fix this.
My settings have always been what they are now and it has only recently started to do this. Been printing on this printer for over a year.
Any suggestions?

I am not familar with the printhead design of the Z6100 but the symptom you describe is typically caused by a buildup of paper fibers or pet hair in the printhead area, often on the carriage that holds the printheads. The fibers may drag in the wet ink causing smearing. The cure is typically to clean the underside of the printhead assembly with a damp q-tip. The following page is written for an old model desktop printers, but it will give you an idea.
You might also try asking the question in the Business Support Forum dedicated to Designjet printers, the forum there has more users with Designjet experience.
