pcwizard (HP) requested that I try Foxit Reader 5.1 to see if the printer will print properly. I used the same previous document and printed it with Foxit Reader 5.1. The printer printed two copies when only one was requested as it had done in the past. We still have a problem.
I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) for OS. I have experience the issue on two different computers.

Hi dslledyrt,
Do other PDF files do the same thing?

Yes. It is not only PDF files that we have had the problem with. It seems that the problem occurs when the number of pages being printed exceed a size. I don't know what that size is, however it seems to occur when you get to the 20 pages size. It may even be less than that. I believe it is an issue with the printer, as it occurs with multiple file types and with two different computers, occurs with two sided print as well as single sided print and occurs even though all HP printer updates have been applied.

Hi dslledyrt,
Do you know what is common on these two computers?
Do you have a third computer you can try this on?
Do you get the same issue when you print large job from Wordpad?

The commonality between the two computers is
- they both have Windows 7 for OS
- they both use MS Office 2010, however one uses the full version, the other uses Microsoft Office Starter
- they both have Acrobat Reader X on them.
I printed a test on Notepad of a file that contained 29 pages. The computer printed only one copy, i.e. printed the job correctly.

Hi dslledyrt,
Ok, since notepad worked fine this is a sign that the printer is working correctly. What we need to do now is figure out the programs you have this issue. Run a test on all the application software you use to print, and let me know which ones seem to have this issue?

It prints two copies on files where I have 30+ pages on MS Word 2010; MS Word Starter 2010; Adobe X; and Foxit Reader 5.1. These are the only programs that I use where I print larger files. The page count may be less than 30 pages, but it doesn't normally print two pages on low page count files, i.e. 1-5 pages.

Hi dslledyrt,
How is the printer connected to the computers?
Do you have the same issue when you use a different connection method?

The computers are connected to the printer through a wireless network. I connected one of the computers through printer cable connection directly between the computer and the printer. I then printed a MS Word 2010 document of 35 pages. It printed two copies instead of one.
If this is not a problem with the printer, why do I not experience the same issues with the HP Photosmart C7280 "All in One" Printer?

Hi dslledyrt,
Can you install the Basic Driver for the printer on one of the computers, and let me know if you still have this issue?
