HP PSC 2355 - Memory Trashed

Hello,

 

My friend ran into a recent problem with their HP PSC 2355.  Specifically, the product will no longer print and when they were trying to copy, the LCD displays the message:

 

"Memory Trashed" and all the lights are blinking. 

 

After searching, only one thing came up on a 3rd party site. It sounds like this is kind of a rare issue.  But does anyone know what we can do to fix it and avoid having to toss the machine?
