Hi,
Having upgraded my PC after the old one died, i find that my PSC 1215 All in one works in that i can print documents okay, but i can't get HP Director to work now using Windows 7. It just comes up with a message that HP ImageZone has known compatability issues and to contact HP. Having browsed the articles i can't see anything that might help, so thought I'd ask the question here as to whether there's a fix?
It's annoying because the printer works fine despite being old, but now i have to guess at ink levels or wait till a document comes out looking dire, and will have to fiddle around with scanning! Had a similar problem when i had Windows XP upgrade on old PC but at least there was a workaround for that from Microsoft.
Anyone know of a fix for this?
Thanks

Hi - A couple of notes:
- Unfortunately, the only driver avaialble for the PSC1215 is the one that comes with Win7 and does not support HP director.
- One workaround, though not a great one, is to print a test page that will show the ink levels. Check out the steps in this document, to print a test page that shows the ink levels:
- HP Photo Creations is the replacement for Image Zone, so you might download it and see if it gives you some of the features that Image Zone used to:

Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried the test page workaround and as a result changed both b & w + colour cartridges although i suspect latter was probably still okay. The test page doesn't print out like the guide image in that the colour bars are not aligned fully, the black bar ends in horizontal stripes and some of the wording is patchy. I suspect the cartridges need aligning and before (Windows 7) the printer would automatically print out a sheet to be scanned in so as to align the cartridges - but this sheet doesn't now happen.
I also looked at the Photo Creations download but that appears only to be a photo manipulating tool, without any of the Director related functions.
So in summary, i now have new cartridges fitted but any printing appears as mis-aligned and blurred. is there a solution to fix this please? I guess what i need is to be able to generate the cartridge alignment sheet so as to scan it in, although if the Director function isn't working will that do any good anyway? Alternatively i am going to have to resort to uninstalling the PSC 1215 and reloading it and all the drivers in order to get the cartridges aligned correctly? If it is the latter, can you advise if theres a way of stopping the photo imaging stuff installing automatically from the CD after drivers are installed, or am i better off letting Windows detect the drivers seperately?
Thanks

Hi - Wish I had better news, but it doesn't look like there is a good solution for replacing the functionality of HP Director in Win 7. Based on this document (HP Toolbox section):
It doesn't look like there is a workaround for running the alignment page in Win7. Really, the only option is to install the driver that comes with Win 7 (which is what it sounds like you are using). The drivers and SW (Image Zone, HP Director) on the CD are not compatable wtih Win7.
Sorry about the problems.
