HP Photosmart C4680: Screen lock on "Black Copying... 1/1"

I turned on my printer. It asked me to add 8.5x11 paper, so I did. Then the screen indicated "Black Copying... 1/1. I can't go back or forward and have forced a quit, to only find the same issue when I turned it on again. HELP!

I would try a power reset on the printer as in this document:

If the problem still exists there may be something going on with the printer. Will it print from the computer? Does it only happen when scanning or copying?
