Re: HP Printer problems

Hi,

There are a number of things that can cause a carriage jam.

To prevent it from recurring, one should keep in mind a number of things.

Always ensure that the paper tray is not overloaded as this might result in the paper being stuck inside.

Also the paper being used should be as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Turn off the printer when removing bits of paper. If there is a broken gear, do not repair it yourself.

Get more information to fix HP Carriage Jam problem :

Hope this information helps you.

Re: HP Printer problems

Okay, i've tried all othe the posted solutions, but still getting a "carridge jam" on my HP 7400.  One issue I noticed is that there is a bar across the front of the ink cartridges, and that stops them from being removed.

The plastic bar has what appears to be a two clock faces the one on the left has a large arrow pointing to it, and the one on the right has light lines all around it, to make it apper bright or on.

This bar, whatever it is, seems to be at the base of this issue.

Thanks for any assistance.

Re: HP Printer problems

Okay for a 7400 series, look at the cartridge section about 3/4 of the way down this document. Compare the visual betweent he document and what it actually looks like.

Re: HP Printer problems

Have tried all of these and still it doesn't work.  For one thing there is a BAR blocking the cartridges from being removed.
