Just installed this printer and connected with USB 2.0 - running XP Professional. When printing any document or even test print, it takes a very long time before starting to print. We are not able to send any more documents to printer until the first doc. has completed printing.
Any suggestions??

Can you share:
What driver you are using.
Time from click to clunk on a printer test print
Time to print an internal page (like menu map or supplies page) from the control panel?
How do you know you can't send more documents? Are you not able to hit print on the same application until it returns? Adifferent application?
Thanks!

I have the same problem with Windows 7, Vista and XP, I already did some tests.
It happens if I printed from a local machine or from other machine with the printer as a share printer, I also realized this happens when I sent a document with a picture in it, or when I print only a picture, but when I only print a single text, there isn't any trouble.
I think there is something wrong with the Windows driver because my last test was put the printer with my desktop machine with ubuntu 10.10 and it works perfect.
The problem here is, this printer isn't mine then I need it works under Microsoft's OS.
Thanks for the attention.

I have the same issue of slow printing. I have a Win7-32 bit and also 64 bit system I use them on.
they are not networked.
Printer is connected via USB. Pictures take 2-5 minutes to print. Sometimes I get an "insufficient memory error". Therefore, I just added 256mb of memory. It made absolutely no difference in print speed.
I have uninstalled printer, reinstalled printer and drivers. Allowed win 7 to install the drivre.Using Universal PLC6 driver. I have gone and downloaded a current driver and installed it myself. Then tried a 5x driver with no change in printing speed. I have plugged and unplugged the power cord. Let it sit overnight. Nothing helps. HP, a solution for this would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone had success with a solution for this?

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

Best of Luck!
