How do I stop a test page from printing after every print?

[ Edited ]

I have a 932C.  Every time I print something the printer wants to follow it with a test print page.  At least that's what I think it's trying to do.  I put only enough paper in for what I'm printing.  Then I turn the printer off and back on.  Don't want to waste the ink or paper. It's been going on for sometime now, so I've actually forgotten what's it trying to print.  A blue internal light goes on though.  Anyway, it's a pain and it's about time I fixed it.  Can anyone tell me how?  Thanks!

The page it is trying to print is an alignment page.  Let it print this page and finish properly and it will not print again until you change the cartridges.  The blue light is an automatic scanner, it will read the page as it is being printed and will automatically align the printer and set the proper operating energy for the cartridges.

Could this be why my color printing isn't as vivid as it should be?

That could certainly contribute, although there are other possibilities as well.  The good news is that the alignment is easy to correct, it takes about one minute and one sheet of paper.  After completing the alignment I would suggest printing a nozzle diagnostic page as shown here.  Each color bar pattern should be complete, if not there are nozzle health issues that can be addressed.

Re: How do I stop a test page from printing after every print?

If by "complete" you mean no lines missing, then it looks like my printer has some nozzle health issues.  I don't know if this is related, but the cyan bar seems to fade in, instead of starting solid.  I tried printing out a sunset, and the sky is darker blue than it should be and there's  no orange glow.  I had opened another post on print quality, and tried what was suggested with no change. If you could help me with this I would really appreciate it. I get so dissappointed when what I print doesn't look like what I see on the monitor.

Every time i start printing, the printer prints a testpage. How can I make this optional? and stop wasting my ink?

The page is an alignment page.  It will print once after a cartridge change if the alignment completes.  Your alignment is failing, perhaps because one of the cartridges is not printing properly or you are not loading the alignment page on the scanner and pressing the scan button shortly after printing.  This depends on the model - what printer model do you have?
