LaserJet M2727nfs

Hello,

I am printing directly on the TCP port 9100 of my HP Laserjet printer with a script and would like to know what is the PJL command in order to set the tray on this specific printer. For example when I would like to print using the tray number I tried the following command:

@PJL SET MEDIASOURCE=TRAY2

but it does not work, my printer still uses tray 1...

Any ideas?

Regards

John

Could be lots of reasons; for example:

  • Perhaps your printer model does not support this particular PJL command.
  • PJL commands are only interpreted if the printer is on 'PJL mode'; this mode is entered automatically when the printer receives a Universal Exit Language (UEL) escape sequence (<Esc>%-12345X).
  • If the printer is not in PJL mode, PJL commands are treated as text data and printed (although they may be 'printed' in the unprintable regions if correct margins have not been set).
  • Control sequences in your print job (following a "@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE = language" command, or (failing that), the first escape sequence or non-PJL data) may set a different media source.
