Good afternoon,
Firstly the details.
Printer make \ model : Hp laserjet 1200 v
Printer Driver : Hp Laserjet 1200 series PCL5e
Platform : Windows 2003 (sbs) SP2
Between printer and network there is a Castelle print server.
Problem:
When i send a document to the printer from word, excel or outlook firstly i get with the following text.
@PJL COMMENT "context data is not available"
@PJL SET RET=ON@PJL SET DUPLEX=OFF
@PJL SET ECONOMODE=OFF
@PJL SET OUTBIN=UPPER
@PJL SET FINISH=NONE
@PJL SET PAGEPROTECT=AUTO
@PJL SET PAPER=A4
@PJL SET TRAY1TEMP=NORMAL
@PJL SET HOLD=OFF
@PJL SET RESOLUTION=600
@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL
Then after the printer prints the document with no problems. however it is a bit of a waste of paper if for every print job that we do an extra page comes out with the PJL commands.
So far i have tried differen drivers for the printer.
Removed and recreated the printer on the server.
Changed the printer for another printer of the same make and model.
Tried disabling the advanced printing features on the printer.
banged head against table in frustration! ![]()
does anyone have an idea of how i can remove \ disable the PJL commands that are being sent with the actual document.
Hope thats clear peeps.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards
=Sonic=

Had the same problem with my printer hooked up to a printer server. I had to disconect the printer server and reinstall the printer drivers connecting directly to the computer via usb.
