I have a laser jet 1022n and am running windows 7 and cannot install drivers from HP.com, HELP?

I downloaded the drivers for my printer but each time i try to install on windows 7 it tells me to connect printer to computer which I have, when I look in my printers and devices it shows the printer is there but as a device not a printer, is this do to windows 7 and how can I make it work with windows 7?

HI,

 

Disconnect the printer and delete the device listing from devices and printers. Run the installation software again and wait with connecting the printer until the software asks for it.
