My C5180 starting doing the same thing after a recent update of software from HP for my touchsmart computer and the printer. Any solution?

Since this printer is out of warranty, and HP wants cash to tell us it is broken, does anyone have any good recommendations for the 02 ink cartridges?
Or for a replacement printer from say Canon or Epson since new HP printers stink.

I bought the blasted C8180, paid for the extended warranty, used it to print maybe 100 sheets in the 2 years since I got it- still have the protective plastic sheet covers on it - and it has started turning itself on and off repeatedly. Doesn't respond to any buttons, tried another power supply, no good. warranty has expired, can't find out how or where to send the stupid thing to have it looked at. New plan to fix mine: I have this Remington 870 12-ga. shotgun, and I am going to take the printer out on Christmas day and blow the crap out of it. If I can figure out where to send the pieces, I'm going to FedEx the scraps to HP. Recycle this, nancy-boys. HP used to be a quality product. Those days are gone forever. All garbage now.

I fixed my flashing lights and HP C8180 lockup problem. I disconnected my KX tg8421e Panasonic Cordless phone system, ie pulled the plug. Then I restarted the Printer. Got it working in WiFi network. Re connected my cordless phone system and the printer has been fine now for 11 months. hope this helps somebody.
So was a cordless phone system interference problem.

I have the same thing. As a PR professional, I know HP monitors these chat rooms. So the person from HP who reads this needs to help this group out - why are all of these printers suddenly having the same exact issue - it is a problem with the software. Instead of charging us to talk to support help, just let us know if this is fixable. If it is out of warranty and it isn't fine, then maybe I buy another HP printer. But don't charge me to get that answer when you have tons of examples of a broken product.
I am printing these out and sending them to my contacts at BBB and in the media unless we get a response.

My C8180 starting doing the same things listed here in this thread, I am such a lite sleeper when it first started acting up like this it was in the middle of the night the strobe action of all the front led's and buttons had woke me up it was so bright I kidd you not. The front touch screen in all blue showing B00A7CD2 I've tried everything including unplugging it for a week and it will just start doing the same thing. I've been an HP user for almost my entire life but after buying this printer which was one of the better more expensive ones that HP offered at the time (somewhere around $400) and barley only lightly using it and only replacing the ink once with HP factory ink, I WILL NEVER EVER BUY HP AGAIN. I have had too many problems with it including it printing pages with it missing text or images at the very bottom of the page. I am so upset that if I were Taylor Swift I would write a break up song about this. -David R
