Re: Ink cartridge empty but it's not

I have just replaced Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and none shows as full. They show as about 2/3 full. Come on HP, do something. i replaced the black one recently as well. Have not printed even 20 pages and it shows almost empty. I work for a High Tech firm in Ottawa. We sell HP (both printers and servers) and we've noticed a trend in dissatisfaction from government clients with HP.  Two major HP server clients are switching to other vendors because they are so dissatisfied with the "lack of service"poor service" from HP. Will they wake up. I am writing this from a personal printer point of view and after reading a few of the comments here, it shows/explains HP's lack of interest in clients' concerns. Smarten up HP or you could all find yourselves with a job. Your lack of service/problem solving with probably lead to your company going belly up.

Re: Ink cartridge empty but it's not

I have a same problem with HP. Being in a small business I started to print my own flyers to save money. At least that what I was thinking before I started this crusade.

When I started, I could print with one cartridge (#901) approximately 50 two-sided flyer. Not to bad, I thought, cheaper than professional printing, but my happiness didn't last long!

The last three times I purchased my cartridges in the local Wal-mart, and I am going to mad! I spent over $120 on cartridges and I was not able to print more than 75 flyers!!! with them.

They were almost empty!!! This is Outrageous!!! Seems like Wal-mart or HP or both wants to make more money by tricking they customers out of their money!!!

I tried to take it back to Wal-mart but they said that they are not responsible for it, because I depleted the cartridges! I didn't even had ink in them!!! or just a minimal to print couple of pages!

I should learn from these companies; how to make extra money by cheating, tricking my customers and not taking any responsibilities, legally. SHOULD I?

I took your advice and just went to setup and aligned the printer and it worked!  Yea!  Thank you.

Re: Ink cartridge empty but it's not

HP 6180 - the wireless network has been unreliable for years.  Can't maintain it's communication with other devices and gave up on that a while ago.  Now it won't print any longer because it says the yellow ink cartidge is empty even when it's full.  I think this is the last straw for these crappy HP all-in-one printers for me.  Onto a better brand.

Re: Ink cartridge empty but it's not

I've had a c5150 for about 5 years and love it. That is until a couple of weeks ago it got the yellow problem. I've tried all of the things you've listed on this forum and none have worked. I can print out a self Test diagnostic page and clean print head which it says will only print in black, but low and behold it prints in COLOR. But not a single photo.

I love this machine and will admit I have scanned and printed it's little feet off with pictures, because that's what I do and replacing it is going to be hard. But I will if I have to.

But why is it 9 times out of 10 that every one is saying the first color or the only color that will not print for them is Yellow. Is it really the printer or is it something to do with the cartridges themselves?

Re: Ink cartridge empty but it's not

I understand that there is a firmware upgrade for this. But it will only ensure that the next cartridges you install will not be effected the one 's you have in there can only now be used using ink override. I haven't had a chance to prove this out as mine have not run out yet, and I refuse to throw them away.
