After several months away, I'm setting up my 3310xi All-in-one Printer again. It's connected wirelessly. I managed to get it to print a simple text "Test" message. Then I printed a photograph where the colors are all distorted -- green and purple, they look like. Two ink cartridges were fairly low: light blue and magenta(?) -- though they were NOT out of ink -- so I replaced them. The result was the "Ink system has failed" message -- Error 0xc18a0106.
EXCUSE ALL CAPS -- KEYBOARD SCREWED UP. I HAD TRIED TO CLEAN THE PRINTHEADS, BUT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT. NOTE: THE TWO CARTS I REPLACED DON'T SEEM TO BE SEATED AS SECURELY AS THE OTHER CARTS, THOUGH I'M TRYING TO INSERT THEM AS FIRMLY AS POSSIBLE.
I FOUND AN ONLINE HELP INSTRUCTION THAT BEGINS WITH REMOVING THE USB CABLE -- BUT I HAVE NO USB CABLE. I'M CONNECTED WIRELESSLY.
THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Hi,
I would click on Windows Start, and then choose Printers, right click on your printer and choose "offline". This will take your printer offline and out of communication mode with the PC. Then I'd do these steps to reset the printer to try and clear the message.
Leave the product turned on.
Remove the cartridges from the product.
Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
Wait 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
After the calibration page prints, then make the printer "online" again by clicking on Windows Start, choose Printers, right click on your printer, click on the use printer offline again to remove the check mark from offline.
I am employed by HP
