Junk quality HP printer

I bought an HP 8500 Pro all-in one printer for about $400. The printer is lightly used for my home office.

The printer crapped out on me 3 months after the warranty expired. I contacted HP support and was told in 30 seconds that the printer was non-repairable and not covered under the warranty. Over the next 5 minutes, the support person (man) pressured me repeatedly to by a new HP printer. At least 3 times, he said to wait, that he needed to talk to his boss, after which he offered the printer for a take it now offer at a reduced price.

This sleazy "support" service and the fact that this expensive printer lasted just past the warranty period, leads me to say that I will never buy another HP product of any kind. The content of other messages on this forum suggests that I am not the only one boycotting HP products.

Hi tomehak

Out of interest, did you see a particular error msg?

Thanks

Re: Junk quality HP printer

I had the same experience and will never buy an HP. I think the best thing about the company is they let us rant and rave about how disappointed we are with their products. My printer lasted 15 months and was hardly used!
