Laserjet 600 M601 (CE990A) won't automatically print from envelope feeder

All I want to do is have the envelope automatically print (without me walking over to printer and hitting the OK button).

Figured it out. In Word, under printer options, change feed from to envelope

Me too! How do you fix it? I have the proper 75 envelope feeder. But, when I print an envelope the trouble light blinks and it says load envelope into tray 1. But, tray 1 already has the envelope feeder stuck in it. Then I have to manually override tray 1 and press the printer button to go to the envelope feeder. What a pain. All I want to do is the same thing that my 1997 HP 4000 did. When I print a letter I want it to come out on normal paper from tray 2. When I print an envelope I want it to automatically come out of the 75 envelope feeder. Can anyone help. Even HP Customer Support could not figure it out after 2 hours on the phone with them logged into my computer.

The HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 Printer M601 series are commercial printers. I recommend posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a solution.

Gee, thanks for the help!  That really solves my problem.  Instead of HP telling people that they are in the wrong forum, why don't they spend a little more time on testing and quality control before releasing a product - personal or commercial?  Or, at least fix the problem with a corrected driver after releasing a defective product into the marketplace - again, personal or commercial.

I just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with HP & found a solution for my problem which sounds identical.

Go to printer properties & select the printer settings tab.

on the form to tray assignment choose not available for manual feed to tray one & tray one (both the same I know but it seems to work).

Then in word (if you are using) when printing the envelope under options on the printing options tab make sure it is marked as Envelope or Envelope feeder.  if you are also printing labels you can make sure it is feeding from the manual feeder and this will still work.

This is my solution so far and it has been working (for now at least).
