Loose parts

HP Officejet 4110 printer. OS Windows Vista and 7. Printer quit printing with error message "Out of paper". Had at least 20 sheets of paper. Inspection revealed two loose parts, one rubber covered block about 1cm x 1cm x 1.5cm and a spring about 2.7 cm long and 1cm in diameter. Cannot find an illustrated parts breakdown on the internet. Does HP hold such information proprietary? If I had a parts layout such as other companies like Maytag provided for their appliances maybe I could replace them and fix the printer. I'm sure it's no more complicated than a Model 15 Teletype. Thanks for any help. I hate to throw the junk away as I have money invested in it and new ink cartridges.

Re: Loose parts

HI,

Can you make a picture of the part, it sounds to me like it is a part of the service station, one of the inkthead covers.

I'm not really sure how to do that but I will try. My digital camera is old and does not take close up pics. Hope this works and thanks very much for your prompt reply and help.IM000939a.jpg

Re: Loose parts

Its that part indeed, you find more of them under the cartridges where they are in restin position. Try to fix it fast, as one of your cartridges will be drying out
