More problems!! Business Inkjet 1100dtn

Still having (Thanks Microsoft!!) with my B110 not printing wirelessly! BUT think after MANY hours of help from A VERY nice lady on here and HP staff I know how to fix that one! BUT this new one has me and several others totally stumped!

 

I have an aged (Bit like me!) HP Business Inkjet 1100 dtn printer. I HAVE had this computer running on/under Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit recently.And removed it to change things around a little.

I plugged the printer back and and it will NOT print? Nothing different about the setup except the table the printer is placed on? But the printer simply will not work! I have installed it on my Wifes machine running XP and it runs fine. So I thought hey ho I'll simply network it.....WRONG! I THINK the problem is that the drivers I have to install the printer under is a fix and the drivers are for the HP Business 1000 printer and so the network sees the printer as the 1000 and NOT the 1100 and so will not process the drivers?? Only my thoughts?

But allthough I have read umpteen papers and gone to lots of forums I cannot for the life of me get the 1100 to print with the 1000 drivers and ceratinly not get it to network And again I have had it working on Windows 7 32 bit machine?? Anyone got any ideas I can try please?? Before I start ripping out what little hair I still have :-)

Ciara, it is THANKS to GOOD people like yourself we the less able to remember get to poast a reply about things we MAY have forgotten! (May?? HUH!)

 

I did eventually find a solution in the face of an update from MS and NO OTHER!! I was asked BY MS if I wished to use the HP update OR there own?? So having used the HP one I am afraid I used the MS one and blow my socks off gently it only worked!!

 

So thank you for prodding me to upgrade this post to SOLVED!! Not sure if it WAS that file I used but it was a new file and I used it and it worked! So thatnk you for the reminder anyway!
