Hi !
I found the following about moving to another country ink cartridges issues
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&
Contacted HP but because my printer is old, it's no longer supported and they can't provide the information. I was asked to contact the shop where I bought the ink cartridge. The shop is arguing they sold me the correct cartridge for my printer and there is not much they can do to help ![]()
Stuck as not sure where to find the information on how to reset my printer to accept new cartridges.
Please help!
Many thanks in advance!!
Ornella

Hi Ornella - I would definitely contact HP support again. Even though the printer is out of warranty, they should take care of this for you. They can do a one time reset of the printer to recognize the cartridge from the new country.
If you have any problems let me know.
I am an HP employee.

You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work. HP's web page on the subject is here.

Hi There!!
I called again HP in FR and basically they told me the same thing again ![]()
HP can't help me because my printer is old and that I need to speak with the shop who sold me the cartridges.
I explained to them about the region reset and why the cartridges are not working, however they were not willing even to open a case for me.
Please help!!
best regards

I will be sending you a private message requesting more information. The shop that sold you the cartrdiges cannot do anything about this, you will need to have a qualified HP support agent through walk you through the reset. This can be done over the phone, but not all the agents are trained or qualified in this. The agents should have escalated your case to someone that could handle it....
