Thank you so much for responding.  I was able to find someone that came in my office to help.  I am using Microsoft 2003.  I was trying to find out of my printer would work without replacing the color cartridges.  Through that effort (apparently it doesn't) I had punched "print in greyscale" which ended up being the problem. 

 

I have never used a support forum before...how great that you help people.
