Officejet Pro 8500 - A909g clips paper during printing

My year-old Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - A909g clips (and by clips I mean tears and bends inwards) the middle of the left side of my pages when it prints out.

For a while when I would print out Excel tables the lines wouldn't be straight, and instead would shift down in the middle of the line. Then the print outs where coming with the text and images slanted downward on the page and the pages were being clipped. (There was a piece of tape in back of the printer, behind the rear paper rollers.) But it is still clipping my pages everytime I print, rendering the printouts basically useless. Please help! I can't find any info about this on the troubleshooting pages.

I'm using Win7, USB connection to the printer and there are no error messages when it does this.

I have an Officejet Pro 8500 A909a.  Paper feeds unevenly, then page is jagged and ripped on left side of printed page.

I have walked thru all of the trouble shooting steps recommended.  Printer does not get beat up with too much use.   Any help or ideas?

I have the same problem, purchased Last May, use in studio only I still have org ink cart. I have not had any issues till last sunday 3/18/12 I printed and it started coming out crooked the print on the page was mis aligned 

I removed paper stock added new paper then it started tearing the left side and paper not feeding straight , I have tried everything I know could not find anything in rollers **bleep**??? now I see you guys had that same issue, has anything been resolved??  I am going to load it up and take back to office depot, I still have a warranty!!

How dumb do I feel??? looking at the rear of the unit as everyone pointed out, found the unit not seated in place properly simply pushed back into place heard the click now all is good in life again, prints perfect !! thanks TEAM!!
