P2055 randomly runs a Print Page before a job, and randomly when computer is on

Before many print jobs, the P2055dn prints a page that is blank except for the follwing at the top of the page:  GET /DevMgmt/DiscoveryTree.xml  HTTP/1.1

Host: 127.0.0.1:8080

How can I make this stop?  I have the latest print drivers.  Running Win 7 64 bit.

I had the same problem on a brand new P2055d.  Workstation OS is 32bit Win7Pro.  The suggested fixes did not work. 

I have a fix that has worked for the last 4 hours, and more than a few print jobs.  I went into printer properties and disabled the alert /status notification.  I hate that I don't have the nicky-nack toolbox utility telling me about toner, print jobs & such.  But at least the printer quit wasting paper.

After some doing, I finally got through to a technician on the phone and got this fixed.  Basically, he uninstalled all printers and previously downloaded HP drivers (and had to go into regedit to do it...not for the faint of heart).  The he shut down, cleared, and restarted all of the print spoolers.

Finally, he downloaded the universal Laserjet 5 PCL drivers (Win 7, 64 bit), installed these and now everything works fine...no extra sheet, duplex works, etc.  Hope this helps! 

HP:  I am disappointed that you cannot do better with your drivers than this!  Installing a printer should not be this hard!!!!!

How can I make this stop? I have the latest print drivers. Running Win 7 64 bit.

The fix for the 2055dn does not work on the 2605dn so does anyone have a fix for 2605dn - tech help and driver useless as usual
