PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

I have an HP PSC 1315 (no suffix) all-in-one printer. I keep it turned off when not in use. Every time I turn it on, it prints a self test page.

How can I disable this feature? I found no help on this subject on HP's website.

Many thanks

The page that is printing is an alignment page, printed after a cartrdige is changed.  You need to complete the alignment process by loading the page on the scanner and pressing the scan button as shown in your user manual, page 33.

Thank you Bob. It took a couple of cycles, but that did the trick!

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

no luck??? tried it too many times now and i still get a test page every time i turn printer on

i have a psc 1510

its driving me nuts, half the ink on every cartridge i use gets wasted and that goes for paper too cause i only ever print one sheet at a time. its a shame cause apart from that ive never been so happy with a printer!

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

It's really the alignment page and I have put it on the glass and  pressed the scan button.  It went through it's routine but every time I turn on the printer it still prints an alignment page.  I am wasting ink and paper.  Help!

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

Me too!  psc 1315.  prints alignment page every time I turn it on.  AND won't print anything from the computer.  Print orders just pile up in the cue.  Including the test page!

I know we solved this problem before. Wish I could remember how.

It happens anytime I replace the cartridge.  Scanning the alignment page does not solve the problem.  It just prints another alignment page again the next time I turn the printer on.

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

I found the solution that worked for me last time...

Re: Alignment Page HP PSC1315 prints every time printer is turned on

Hi,

Have you tried this?

1. Turn off the printer and wait ten seconds. Turn it on again.

2. Let the printer print the test page.

3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable that is connecting the printer to your PC. Do not not turn off the printer while disconnecting the cable.

4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer control panel. The On light will flash while the page is being scanned.

5. Remove the test page when the On light is no longer flashing.

6. Turn off the printer and wait another ten seconds.  Now you  can Turn it on again.

Is it no longer printing test pages?

Now you can reconnect the USB cable between the PC and the printer.

Please post your results.

regards,
erico

Re: PSC 1315 - how to stop test page

Asterix,
