My Photosmart 375 was manufactured in August, 2004. I cannot get it to come on when I connect it to the power cord. The cord works on another printer that I borrowed so I know that the cord is good. Could the battery that is installed in the bottom of the unit have died? If so, would this keep the unit from working when it is plugged into an electrical outlet? Where can I order another battery? I searched the HP website and did not find any battery listed in the product line.

The battery is part number Q5599A, available from a number of sources.
The battery should not be required for operation assuming you have a working power adapter. You can remove the battery if it is not working, it is not required for operation.
