I think the solution to this problem lies with your settings in the Paper Type/Quality menu. I was continually getting this error message until I checked my paper settings. As a default it seemed to be set to photo paper. Once I changed it to plain paper (as I wanted to print on plain paper) then it printed fine.
I guess this is only relevant if you have not yet checked your paper type. I hope it helps. I was getting rather frustrated until I worked this out.

I too, am getting this message on my new B8550. I tried changing the paper settings to the proper size and photo paper before every print command, and then changed it when the final print screen appeared, and still received the message. I was able to print one picture before this started, and it was one that I had in the HP photo gallery, although I did not go there to retrieve the photo. Do pictures have to be stored there for this to print? It also kept telling me, (on the computer, not the printer screen) that I needed to access the HP info that was stored on a CD, which wasn't in the disc drive. Is this significant? I have several thousand pictues stored on several different hard drives, and do not plan to store them on the C drive of my computer.
Do Photoshop users regularly have problems with this Printer? I see several posts from them.

I had the same "out of paper" problems as some of the other posters here. I was able to solve my problem by purchasing a cleaning compound designed to clean printer rollers, and then cleaning my printer per the directions. I think that some of the print paper leaves some sort of residue on the rollers that prevents them from picking up the next sheet, thus deluding the printer into thinking that it is out of paper.

I too have had this same problem. It has two causes - 1 is a mismatch between the paper in the printer bin and the paper type selected in the software dialogue box. The other in my opinion is a design defect of the printer itself when it comes to shiny (glossy) paper. My printer works fine with plan paper, but HP's own Brochure and Flyer Glossy paper almost always requires me to bend the paper at the leading edge and manually push it through because the paper gets snagged on the slanted vertical edge that the leading edge of the paper sits against. I would say this printer has trouble with thicker, shiny papers because they don't bend as readily as plain paper and tend to get snagged. To reproduce this, just try pushing a single sheet of Brochure Paper into the printer with the top paper cover off and you will see it is snagging in the back right hand side of the printer where the paper meets the slanted vertical back edge of the paper feeding area.

My HP Photosmart printer D7560 is not accepting the 4 x 6 HP glossy photo paper. I keep getting an error message to load paper in the tray. I pull the slider out, push the paper back against the rear, push the slider tight and hit OK. It used to be that I would do this 3- 10 times and it would begin printing but now it isn't printing at all. I read somewhere about taking the back section off the printer and putting it back and have done that a couple of times. I am absolutely frustrated and want to know if I can salvage this printer since I bought a lot of ink and print photos of necklaces that I design and make to display in photo albums.
