Re: Photosmart Plus B209 Excessive Ink Consumption

My B209a ink also waste so much ink FAST! I do not even print photos And the XL cartridge is bolognie it still waste fast...I called Hp support (by the way is Terrible) They told me yes those are old models and I should buy a New one...I said WHAT? Are you serious? You're trying to sell me something? Then he proceeded to tell me I'm out of warrenty and he could not help me... I tried everything from changing settings  to print at a lower quality and nothing works!!! I will never buy another Hp product again

Oh and I too also heard about the Class action Law suit against Hp with them cheating people with the ink issue, hp settled. But it only says they are to give a credit of something like 1-2 dollars for people with certain models and they have a long list...just google it and you'll see. NEVER Hp again!!!

I agree with you 100%!  This printer uses ink faster than my old HP that used the very small 02 cartridges.  I've bought so many cartridges for this printer that I could have purchased 4 or 5 printers by now.  JUST bought all new standard 564 cartridges, and the colors are all still full because I NEVER use color unless I have to because of the cost.  There is a way to save money though.  First, change the ink volume to use less ink.  That's in the printer properties section.  Then, instead of high-quality black & white, select to use black only.  I had 3 empty color cartridges installed for over 6 months and only bought Black XL cartridges.  That's a way to save money with this printer, but black & white is SO old-school.  Personally, I think they should throw out all printers that use the 564 series cartridges and start over using another cartridge like the 60 which has a black cartridge and a tri-color cartridge.  Thought I was saving money by buying only the ink that was low, but that just isn't so.
