I had good luck with my HP Photosmart Plus B209 for four years.
My Printerhead problem warning notice occurred when I replaced the
color ink cartridges. The blog posting regarding this issue got me very discouraged.
My boyfriend recommended that I use alcohol to clean the gold contacts on the printer head.
Some how black ink leaked onto the gold contacts. After throughly cleaning the ink off the contacts with alcohol,
the printer went through a complete alignment process ( 5 minutes) and started working perfectly! Hope this works for others.

I am at this forum because I have the same problem, but I must say I am surprised that it seems so many people are having this problem while the printer is still fairly new. I have had mine for almost 6 years and this is the first time I have had a problem of any kind. My laptops have been HPs and I recommend them.

Thanks Bob,
This solved the same problem with the HP PhotoSmart 7510 - whole load of black ink over the Printhead contacts. Seems a good idea to perform maintenance on these every 6 months or so as the ink does travel.

If you have a Photosmart Plus b209 then see the post here as mentioned a few times in this thread.
If you have a different printer please read this post then provide some details. What printer model?
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
