Printer prints test pages fine but will not print documents from the computer?

I have an HP office jet 6500 which was working fine until I Installed free MacAfee from Cox.  I had a problem and contacted MacAfee  and the representative took control of my computer and inadvertently (I hope) deleted a bunch of stuff, as well as downloading 38 languages for three hours, of which only three can be even remotely useful!  At any rate I was able to get my old HP 4L working (after a fashion, it doesn't shut off now after a print job completes.)  But my office jet will scan and copy but will not print from the computer!!  Help!

do a repair install of the printer driver
