Printing Card Envelopes (5 3/4 x 8 3/4)

My HP Officejet 6500 will not print envelopes from my Hallmark Card Studio 2010 Deluxe program.  Have tried adjusting to all different settings and tried tech support.   I find it astounding that a company like HP would put out a product that does not support such a popular program.  Anyone found a solution to this?

I am using Avery, have you tried creating a custom setting and then creating a printing shortcut with this custom setting with a setting of "Plain paper" for the "Paper Type".

I can do this by creating custom paper in Word but it is not totally satisfactory.  The printer leaves an irregular black line on the envelope.  It is also a nuisance, cutting and pasting graphics on the envelope etc.  I appreciate the comeback but there has to be an easier solution.  Anyone?????

I set-up the custom settings in the 6500's Printer properties did you try that?

TY foryour input.  Just received call from HP and they found a solution for me:  Install HP Deskjet 9800 Printer driver!!!!  It works great.  Kudos to Hank from HP.

I just got off the phone with Tech support and sales. on 7/13 I called sales and  I wanted a printer that would print Greeting Card envelopes 5 3/4 x 8 3/4. the gal said you want  and  sold me an HP6500. Guess what now the supervisor says that HP does not make a printer that will accept this size envelope. This is a very common envelope and the last printer I had HP 2580, I could override the error function. Is my only solution to use lables?

Hi, setting "Plain paper" for the "Paper Type" is the override.

It depends on who you get in tech support.  I called and told them if it couldn't print the card envelopes I wanted to return it.  They transferred me to another tech member who worked with me and had me download the HP Deskjet 9800 software.  IT WORKS GREAT!!!!  Problem was solved.

I am having the same problem with a officejet 4500.  It will not print card size envelopes correctly.   I have used a aord program and Works word processor, neither will work for this size. Even setting custom size doesn't work  Help.  Will downloading the HP deskjet driver 9800 help?  Will that driver even work with the officejet 4500?
