Printing emails with Outlook 2010 sometimes don't complete

I am using Outlook 2010 under Windows 7 64-bit with a Photosmart 7960 printer.  Sometimes, but not always, when I print an email, all of the text will print and the paper will stop advancing.  The power light will flash red and the printer becomes completely non responsive.  I correct the problem by pulling the paper out and unplugging and replugging in the power after which it operates "normally".  This is actually a great little printer that serves my needs well but this occasional problem is baffling
