Random Restarts CS5180

I have an HP CS5180

 

It's pretty old, and I haven't used it in a few years. I just bought new cartriges and put them in, but It keeps turning itself off. I get an error message when it comes back on that says "Improper Shutdown" but when I click "OK" it restarts again and the same thing happens over and over and I can't get anything to print.

Hello Pallyn00b,

Thanks for the post.  With this one, I think we should start with a printer "reset".  I've included a link below with some steps to go through this process.  Also, if your printer and computer are plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the printer directly into a wall outlet.  Let's separate the power source and isolate the problem.  Let me know the results.  Good Luck!
