Smart Wep Printing: How do I get MSIE 'ctrl+shift for new window' settings back?

[ Edited ]

I'm running windows XP, and using MSIE6.

I recently installed a HP all-in-one printer, and ever since I did so, I've been unable to press and hold ctrl+shift while clicking a link to open it in a new window. Instead, when I press ctrl+shift, as soon as I move the mouse the cursor becomes a crosshair... something to do wth HP Smart Select... and it's annoying the hell out of me.

I've tried disabling the add-on that provides the button, and I've tried unchecking "HP Smart Web Printing" on internet explorer's file menu, but niether seems to solve the problem. Can anybody here please tell me how I can undo whatever change HP has somewhat annoyingly made to my computers functionality without explicit warning?

Trouble is, right clicking on a linked element in a page doesn't always offer the option to open the link in a new window, and in such cases, ctrl+shift s the only way to do it, but the HP software has taken it over!

Many thanks,

Krissie xx

Why not trying to replace your IE6 to IE8? Somehow it will help you to resolve your problem.. If you don't want IE8. try update your IE6 to MS site. and try uninstalling IE and HP software and add ons. then see if it works??/ pm me back ,, :-)
