Sudden failure to print photos in colour (only photos)

Operating a HP Photosmart Printer C309g with operating system Windows 7 64 - bit.

Have printed many colour photos but suddenly will only print black and white.  Ordinary colour scanning and printing is fine - just photos.

Goes through normal printing series of windows showing colour image until very last printing instruction  when image turns to black and white.

 Diagnostic check on printer shows everything o.k.

Appears to revert to black and white whatever programme I use to print a photo.

I now find that I can print colour photos by using my Picasa programme

Does this give any clues?

Tim, I would re-install the software which is giving you problems.
