Good news Travis. I was able to access the ink levels and maintenance tasks from the front panel with no problem. I will still try the uninstall reinstall of the software this weekend and let you know, because it would be nice to be able to have access from my screen and the chair where I sit in front of it.
But I think it is fair to say that you provided me with a solution, so I will mark this problem as solved since there is no button for "acceptable work around".

Hi Travis,
Here is my Dunce report.
Uninstall/reinstall seems to have returned everything to its original working state. I guess I should have tried that from the start, but there is apparently a stubborn streak in me that says, "why should that be necessary when nothing was changed?"
I realize that it probably shouldn't be necessary but if it works to fix things then why fight it? I have no good answer, other than that is the kind of jerk I have been for 64 years. I must try to grow up some day.
Thanks again for all your help and your now multiple solutions to this problem. If I have to do the reinstall again any time soon I will let you know that too, but for now I will quit bothering you. Nice to know you. And thanks again and again. I am totally embarrassed.

when i go to get on skype it tells me my parameter is in correct . do you have any ideas how to fix it

Sorry to but in on this conversation but I have a similar problem with trying to install both my new HP Photosmart 2575 all - in - one, AND a dedicated website coupon printer onto my DELL Latitude D610. The Photosmart has now been installed on my main Acer computer, as I switched from Google Chrome to I.E.8 on that computer. When I switched to I.E8 on the Dell as well I still am getting "The Parameter Is Incorrect" message and as a disabled person who is sometimes confined to bed I REALLY need for the printer to install on my laptop as well. Please can anyone help with a solution? I should tell you that I am not at all computer literate. Many Thanks guys ![]()

What operating system are you running? Also how is the printer connected to the computer?
Have you tried the several solutions offered in this thread?
