I received a refurbished LJ Pro M1217nfw Printer to replace the same original printer whose LCD screen became defective within the warranty period. The documentation which came with the refurb unit, entitled, "Hewlett-Packard Upgrade Program," provides instructions for returning the original product to HP via UPS, but also says, "You may choose to retain your original product" and that there is no additional charge for either returning or keeping the product. The refurb unit was not an "upgrade" but a replacement at HP's expense. I'm confused. What's the policy?

C2PE,
Thank you for providing me with the information to look up your account. It appears as though the documentation that came with your replacement printer is covering both upgrades and replacements. In your specific case as you said you weren't doing an upgrade but rather a replacement so you will need to return the defective unit. If you had paid for the upgrade you could have kept the other printer. I can see how this would have been a little confusing on your part for sure. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks Brandon1. I'll bring it to UPS this morning.
