No print jobs in queue.. Restarted computer and checked all connections

So, what was the issue that prompted you to run the diagnostic utility? And, what have you done to resolve the issue?

Tne printer would not print ,,,It had printed in the past running Win 7...Did what the diagnostics tool told me to... Turn off printer turn on printer and reset USB cables and reboot system

The "pen" is what the developers call what you would call the ink cartridge. (Pen is easier to spell, and it sort of matches - a thing with ink in it that draws on paper....) At any rate, likely one of your cartridges is the issue. The 6940 will print in reserve mode if one of the cartridges is removed. First remove the black cartridge and try printing a page from the computer. If this works OK then replace the black cartridge and remove the color cartridge. Whichever cartridge that properly prints is OK, the other one is the problem. Clean the contacts on the problem cartridge as shown here.
