Re: Windows 7 64bit driver for HP 1280 deskjet

just reading all the comments about the 1280c on windows 7 64bit , i`ve tried the 1200c driver and still cannot print a3 !!! , this is turning into a nightmare after many years of using HP printers this is losing me time and work , you go onto the dwnload drivers and thats no use either , i`ve emailed HP 4 times and never even had a response if you want people to keep buying your products which when they are working are excellent you should remember your existing customers .

Re: Windows 7 64bit driver for HP 1280 deskjet

Use the hp1280 driver in for Windows Vista 64bit. It works!!!!!... so far i've had no problems A3 and other sizes. I've searched most of the forums and believe me it took me forever to find that answer. I hope it works for you

My question is can this printer print on board paper 220gsm? What type of paper should I choose from the choices?

Has anyone tried this?

It does work,

Thank you lafz, after 2 days of trial and error and no help from Hp ('WE DO NOT SUPPORT THAT PRINTER - BUY A NEW ONE'    it works.

Re: Windows 7 64bit driver for HP 1280 deskjet

I`m still having no luck , so seriously looking into an alternative A3 printer I bought the printer because a lot of my design work is A3 amd to not even be able to do A4 without it being half cutoff with no way of using it properly . So i`ll keep it on the vista PC. but want to say that if HP had  their support in place as good as the help that has been offered on this forum , they would have a lot more loyal customers . This 1280 printer is a fantastic bit of equipment only let down by the sheer lack of updated support.

Thanks forum friends !! your all stars :smileywink:

Re: Windows 7 64bit driver for HP 1280 deskjet

I have had the same problem as all you guys. Tried the Vista driver and that has very limited functionality... All these posts point to HP not servicing their existing customers adequately. WHY isnt there a Windows 7 64 bit printer driver for my HP printer??

Re: Windows 7 64bit driver for HP 1280 deskjet

I 100% agree!:womanfrustrated:

Am currently in the same situation, I have attempted to download and use drivers for the 1200 deskjet printer on my 64 bit windows 7 operating system - with absoltely no luck.

It makes me furious that HP refuse to supply customers with correct drivers for printers, if it simply cannot be done - then TELL US (and we will never buy your products again).

I find it absolutely pointless to purchase a brand new printer everytime i buy a brand new HP laptop. THE PRINTER WORKS FINE! It just wont make a connection to my laptop.

If no solutions presented shortly - (ie. updated drivers supplied online or brand new A3 printers with every new laptop purchase.) this will most definately be the end of my HP purchases.

As we all know, A3 printers are an investment, do not come cheap and are not cheap to run(ink wise)

Fix / resolve this problem HP or at the very least - tell us you are incapable of doing so.
