c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

After any small time gap between print jobs (i.e., not in between queued print jobs, but then after the last of those), my c6380 will go through a "Please wait.  Printer preperation occurring."  The print mechanism appears (noisy) to be doing something and then it goes idle.

Is my printer acting correctly?

Thanks,

Keith

Re: c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

This is normal.  After the printer has been idle for some time it prepares the printheads to be parked away in the service area so they will not dry out.

Re: c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

Trouble is, is that it happens right after every job, unless there are sequential ones.  So, some time would be like a second or two?

Re: c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

Is there any way to increase the idle time before it parks the print head? When making 2-sided copies I can't change paper fast enough to prevent the "Please Wait: Printer Preparation Occuring" message. I spend all my time waiting for the printer to get ready for the next copy. Very frustrating!

Re: c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

I have the same issue as the others.

15 seconds after a print job finishes, my C6380 goes through a 30 second cycle (parking the heads, I guess), while it displays "Please Wait. Printer Preparation Occurring".

I understand the behavior, but whose dumb idea was it to only wait 15 seconds?

Maybe you call this a feature, but I call it a bug.  Incredibly annoying!

If there is no fix available, I will return it and replace it with another brand...

So annoying!  I should have taken it back, but thought I'd get used to it.  Nope, it's still just as annoying.  It's lucky it prints well or it would be in pieces by now.

Re: c6380 Printer Preperation After Every Print Job

but it is not normal that occurs after every job..as another person said, every 15 seconds..

This makes this printer very user unfriendly!!!

Is there no way to change this setting, maybe set this "idle time" 10 minutes or ..?

They could make something like driver update..

Otherwise i am thinking of calling HP and seeing about return policies..I don't have much use from the printer that i use to copy books, with it more "preparing" for the job all the time, then working
