defective cartridges

Just curious- Has anyone else had problems with the HP printer cartridges purchased from Walmart?  Cartridges purchased from office stores seem to be fine but the last 6 cartridges out of 10 from Walmart have been defective. Does HP purposely make crappy cartridges for Walmart because their profit is lower? Obviously I'm not buying any additional cartridges from Walmart but I'm grumpy enough about this issue to replace our office's HP printers with another brand.

Re: defective cartridges

I have not bought cartridges from Walmart, but one thing to check would be the dates on the package.  On the back of the package should be a date that either says "end of warranty date" or "install by" date.  The end of warranty date is typically 24 months from the build date, the install by date is 18 months from the build date.  If you do not still have the package the end of warranty information is also printed on the cartridge as shown here.

If the cartridges are expired (or nearly so) please post which Walmart store was involved.
