My deskjet F4280 keeps printing out cartridge slignment pages after every print job. I have emailed HP support and all I get is the automatic answer of making acopy of the alignment page. I have done this countless times to no avail. Is there anyone who can help me, or at least tell me how to get a non-automated response from HP?

No idea of the solution but I have exactly the same problem. You are not alone.

Page 76 of the user manual shows how to complete the alignment process:
9. After the print cartridge alignment sheet prints, load it on the right front corner of the
glass with the top of the page to the right.
10. Press the Scan button.
The product aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print cartridge
alignment sheet.
To have a successful alignment the alignment page must be printed on clean white paper and both the color and black cartridges must print properly
