double-sided printing - orientation (PhotoSmart 3310)

I must be overlooking one simple setting...

I have a PhotoSmart 3310 with the Two-sided Printing Accessory installed. I'm using it as a network printer from computers running Windows XP and Vista.

The problem arose (as I remember it) after printing some document from Microsoft Word and XP the other day, and occurs now that I have started printing from the Vista one. It didn't initially exist.

I want to print a multi-page document, one page per side of a sheet. orientation portrait, "binding left" - I mean: the headers on both sides back-to-back. But whatever I try, it (or rather a dummy document I created to save ink) gets printed "binding top" - I mean: the header on one side is back-to-back with the footer on the other side.

Printing a five-page booklet goes as expected.

What setting could I be overlooking?

Bob, thank you very much for the patch you sent me. It does help! Suggestion to other users: Using Total Commander (or the like) greatly helps to perform the tasks involved in installing the patch. -- Chris PS: Greetings from Murphy: The (main) paper tray happened to be empty upon printing my first test document. Next I filled it too hastily, and got a Big Mac of a paper jam. Then I could not easily see how to re-attach the two-sided printing accessory, nor find its installation pamphlet. :-\ But I've managed!

I had a page orientation issue with my HP Officejet 7410.  I am running Vista Business Edition.  For some unknown reason,(probably a Vista update)  my printer no longer would print my document - Landsacpe, two-sided, Flip Page Up.  I installed the patch from Bob Headrick and it seems to have fixed the problem.  I hope the good folks at HP are reading this forum and will inform their support personnel of this issue.  It took me over a day and a half to resolve an issue which could have been resolved in 15 minutes had I known about the patch.

I had the same problem.  Bob's patch solved the problem.  I also hope HP fixes this for everyone with a driver upgrade.

Many thanks for your swift reply with the patch.  Worked first time for an HP 7410 All in One that I have just had to move onto Vista.  Jackie
