how can I Send a fax directly with HP Officejet Pro 8500

I have a printer of the type
hp officejet 7100 series
When I want to send a fax directly, a text document, for example, type it on the printer
hp officejet 7100 series fax
And converts it to a fax machine directly.

Now I buy a new printer
HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Series
I want to do the same work.
But there is no print on the fax.
I had to I do a print of the file manually and then sent through the printer
I want to resolve the issue

Okay so I need some clarification on what you mean. "When I want to send a fax directly, a text document, for example, type it on the printer" do you mean type it on the computer?

let me make it clear to you :

I have a printer 7100 all in one , when I setup its driver on my PC, in the printer devices, it shown 2 printer :

serial printer

fax printer

if I want, for example, print a sheet from MS Word, I print on " serial printer "

and if I have paper on the MS word and I want to send it via the printer fax, I do it and sent the printing work to 7100 HP fax, so it send the fax and I don't need to print a handout paper to send it manually through the Fax.

When I make driver for HP Officejet Pro 8500, is shown just one printer " serial " nothing with FAX.

In short, I want to send a fax from MS word .

Have you installed the full software for your printer? Cos only of you install it will you get the OJ 8500 Fax icon. Also, which OS are you using?

Yes, I did.

and I will do it again, remove it at all and make a new setup .

I'm using Windows XP SP-2 : Arabic interface

Same here. I want to fax directly from the computer (MS Word, etc.) without having to print on paper and fax by hand.

Just reinstalled the whole monsterbloated HP software again, still not working.

Printer is on wired network.

Just to make sure, this is how the process of faxing from Word is supposed to work, in general terms:

Create and save a Word document. You'll need a saved file on your computer before you're able to fax it.

In Microsoft Word, you can use the Fax Wizard to fax your Word document if you have Word and an Internet connection capable of doing so.

Click "File," then "Send To," then "Fax Recipient." This should open up a Fax Wizard window separate from the window of the document.

Follow the onscreen instructions of the Fax Wizard. If your computer is not capable of sending faxes, the Wizard will indicate this.

Enter the file, recipients' names and numbers and information from your coversheet. Click "Finish" at the bottom of the window.

If your computer is for some reason not capable of using the Microsoft Fax Wizard, you'll need to download a different Internet fax program from the Web.
