You don't need to remove the xps microsoft and the fax stuff. Ket these stay on the printer. The only point of my earlier post is to make sure you only have one copy of your main printer software. Anything that is different (xps, fax) is OK to leave on - you just don't want duplicates of the same printer stuff.
And you need all the computers connected to the printer to be in agreement - that is, nothing is stuck, software is updated and happy on every system.
If you have the printer connected to more than one computer, remove the printer from all but one printer and start there to fix this problem. Then add the other computer.
Yes, it's a good idea to remove the Full Feature Software, (remove the printer), and start afresh.
==================================================
From PrintDoc:
(you) might have both failing printer hardware and corrupt software.
If the printer hardware is bad, there is no point in fixing the software. < removed >
>>> reset (this printer) by leaving it on and pulling the power cord out of the back of the printer for 30 seconds.
Try to: make a copy from the front panel of the printer.
If the printer cannot make a copy on its own, then the scanner and/or print mechanism has failed.

Well I think I am done, it's like I'm going in circles. I have done so much and tried so much I am just so confused. My hardware might be corrupt. I just can't get it to stop scanning when there is nothing to scan or to quit copying. It just changes from one to another when I turn off then on again. Thank-you so much for your help and patience.

Darlin,
Oh, well. It was kind of a long shot, I guess. ![]()
I'm so sorry that printer is "toes up".
Good Luck with whatever you decide to do with it!

precisely same issue - - tries to scan when there is nothing to scan, tries to copy when there is nothing to copy, tries to save to memory card when there is nothing to save.....endless, unstoppable stream. Is this the similar "HP disposable printer" answer?
