i have a hp 8500a officejet pro that has new, full ink cartridges and is still printing light. i have done all the print diagnostics and check all print settings even checked the ink tube cartridges no kinks i don't understand why black prints gray and colors are not as dark as they should be

Was looking at a 8500 preferences.

For the 8500a look at the Printing Preferences/Paper/Quality/Advanced then Output quality: it should be set to Normal.
