noisy printer

After a print job is finished there is lots of noisy activity inside the printer (HP OJ 6000-E609a)---like something moving back and forth. My previous printer did not do this (5700). Is this normal or is my new printer defective?  If it is, I will take it back to Staples. Thanks for your feedback.

Re: noisy printer

Your new printer has semi-permanant printheads which require more servicing.  The sound you hear is the printer cleaning the printheads to ensure they will continue to work properly minimizing clogs.

The sound you hear is normal for this model and other printers using similar technology.
