paper jams while using photo paper

I have a HP Photosmart C7250 and an I mac os x, 10.6.8. When trying to print photos from the computer to print from the main tray or the 4x6 tray, most of the time the paper will jam after it is picked up and fed into the printer.  How, or can I, correct this.
